Dear HES Families,
This Friday we have our April school meeting. We will focus on how to solve problems peacefully. We will also kick off something new for the rest of this year called Husky Heroes. Husky Heroes is all about students "getting caught" being extra kind. Staff members will share the names of students who have gone above and beyond to do something kind, and each Friday we award certificates to those students!

We have a winner! The winner of March Book Madness is Don't Trust Fish by Neil Sharpson. March Book Madness was such a wonderful way to enjoy books as a whole school! Thank you to the PTO for the grant to buy copies of the March Madness titles, to all our teachers for reading aloud all the books, to Mrs. Q for her support, and to Mrs. Cusick for organizing the game.
As we look forward to April break, a few reminders:
- This Friday is the last day to provide input on student placement for next year. Please see the information below in the School Announcements section for instructions and the link to the form.
- Once again fifth graders will leave their iPads here at school over vacation.
- The lost and found will be donated over break. Please encourage your child to look in the lost and found for their clothes, water bottles, and winter gear. Everything with a name is returned by our Safety Patrol students!
Have a wonderful April break!

School Announcements
In the coming weeks we will start working on class placements for next year. This process involves many steps, as we recognize the importance of building a team of learners in every classroom. We take into account a variety of factors, such as academics, social/emotional needs, gender, existing relationships, and teacher observations. We also take into account parent/caregiver input. If you would like to provide information to help us make placement decisions, please complete this form. Please do not request specific teachers or students for your child. Due to the complexity of meeting all students' needs, we can not honor these requests. Please complete the form by April 17 so we have time to review and use this information. Thank you!
Our Lost and Found is full of winter gear, water bottles, and more! Please encourage your child to check the lost and found. We will also have it on display for parent/guardian conferences over the next two weeks. We plan to donate the items in the Lost and Found over April break.

Annual School Supply Sale – New Program Lead needed!
The PTO is looking for a HES parent/guardian to lead the annual School Supply sale. They will train this spring with the current lead for this program, which provides convenience to families while generating funds to provide a full set of school supplies to HES students in need as well as additional supplies for Specials classrooms. It’s a relatively small time commitment to provide a big impact. Anyone interested please email info@harvardpto.org by April 1st.
Teacher Appreciation Looking for a way to say "thank you" to the amazing teachers and staff at Hildreth? We've got two great options! Click the links below to learn more. 1. Stock the teachers' room with KCups and snacks. 2. Volunteer the week of April 13 in the front office. Interested in supporting future events? Join the PTO!
