Dear HES Families,

We are thrilled to have all our students back in the building this week! We hope you and your families are having a healthy and happy start to 2026. Before break, our fourth graders from Mrs. Wicks' class taught us about the book Wishtree, and we now have our very own wishtree in the front hall. Students are starting to add their wishes and hopes for the new year!

Recently you received a ParentSquare message from Nurse Amanda about upcoming state-required health screenings, which begin on January 20. If you would like to opt your child out of the screenings, please notify Nurse Amanda via email at asutherland@psharvard.org.
Our second kindness quilt is complete! Thank you to Liz Bala, Emily Fournier, and Claudia Owens for organizing and putting the quilt together. And of course, thank you to our creative and kind students for making these beautiful squares! This quilt will be donated to the Harvard Council on Aging.

Have a great week!

Rebecca and Hilary

School Announcements

We want to remind all families that our classrooms are nut-free at all times. Please be sure that students' snacks do not contain nuts or nut products. As stated in our handbook, foods with labels that indicate that food is “made in a facility” that processes nuts are acceptable, but more stringent requirements may be necessary for some classrooms with more severe allergies. In this event, your child's teacher will let you know. Students may eat nuts and nut products in our cafeteria away from the allergy-free table. Thank you for keeping all our students safe!
