Dear HES Families,
Last Friday, our students enjoyed visit from TIGER, a talented group from Plymouth State University that uses music and theater to teach about kindness, respect, and being an upstander. The performance was both fun and meaningful! Thank you to second grade teacher Chris Snell for organizing this opportunity and to the PTO for providing the grant that made it possible.

The first issue of the Husky Headlines is here! Thank you to our amazing 3rd-5th grade reporters, parent volunteers, and especially to Husky Headlines advisor Jess Reynolds. Click on the image below to read this issue!

Have a great week!

School Announcements
On October 31, we will have a Fall Spirit Day! Students are welcome (but not required) to come to school in costumes, fall colors, or HES-wear. To keep everyone safe, please do not send students with costume masks, weapons, or long capes.
This year the Harvard Public Schools and the PTO will offer a series of Community Coffees. These informal gatherings are an opportunity to meet neighbors and hear about programs in the schools, ask school administrators questions, and share your feedback. Coffee and refreshments will be provided by the Harvard Schools PTO. The first Community Coffee is this Friday, October 24, at 10 am in the HES Cafeteria. We hope you can join us!
Our November school meeting will focus on Veterans Day and honoring our Veterans.
- We would like to invite parents/relatives of our students and members of our community who have served in the Armed Forces to join us at 9:30 am on Friday, November 7. Please wear or bring your uniform if possible!
- To ensure we have enough seating, please fill out this form or inform the HES office by Monday, November 3rd if you are able to attend.
- Additionally, we welcome photos of any service members who are unable to attend or photos in memory of loved ones who have served. Please send photos to jreynolds@psharvard.org with the person's name and 'in memory of' if applicable.

Did you know that your child can get breakfast at school as well as lunch? Food Services has introduced a new breakfast kiosk cart in the hallway at HES to make breakfast easier to access by students before going to class. Students choose an entree, fruit, and milk and take it to their classroom. Breakfasts are made with whole grain and are lower in sugar than the same product bought in the grocery store. Just like school lunch, school breakfast is at no cost to families.
Gluten-free lunches are also available to students who need them. Please see the email from Mandy Ostaszewski dated 10/21/25 for the options available. Parents should inform the cafeteria each day before 9:00am by emailing Shana Orell sorell@psharvard.org if a gluten free lunch will be needed.
Although school lunch and breakfast is at no cost to families, the entire meal must be taken. If your child brings lunch from home, unfortunately with the School Lunch Program rules, a milk is not free and must be purchased. Please contact Mandy Ostaszewski (mostaszewski@psharvard.org) with any questions.

Please support Bromfield Soccer programs while looking great! For a limited time only, you can purchase Bromfield Soccer gear for warm-ups, sideline support, or just everyday use. A portion of the proceeds from every item purchased goes to support the boys and girls high school teams. Order by clicking the link below – please note that youth sizes are listed below the adult sizes in the drop-down menus. Sizes are available from Youth XS to Adult 4XL. The store will be open until October 26th. Thank you for your support.

Exhibits will include information and artifacts highlighting cultural decor, apparel, food, and other items significant to the celebration. Community members are encouraged to participate in the exhibit by loaning the library personal items to be used in the display, perusing the various books about the celebration curated by the HPL, and enjoying a grab-n-go craft/activity provided by Arm in Arm. Want your Cultural Celebration on display? Have something to loan the HPL in support of a scheduled display? Please see Children’s Librarian or contact Arm in Arm at arminarm.townofharvard@gmail.com
