Dear HES Families,
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the arts last week at our Art Show Reception and 5th grade band concert! It was a lively night with so much creativity, enthusiasm, and positivity. The artists and the band performers were amazing and have worked so hard throughout the year. A special thank you to all the volunteers that helped out, the custodial staff, the PTO for all their support (and supplying snacks!), and the Harvard Schools Trust for a generous grant that has funded our sewing projects for the year.
Of course, the biggest thanks goes to Mrs. Owens for organizing the show and for her work every day with our students to develop their artistic skills. We are also grateful to Mr. Hecox for teaching our fifth graders how to play their instruments and how to play those instruments together!

Due to the forecasted rain and cold, field day has been moved to June 2. We are looking forward to drier and warmer day at the beginning of June. Thank you Mr. Woodworth planning this wonderful day and to our parent volunteers for taking the time to help us out!
Have a great week!

These sessions are appropriate for kids in grades K-2 and will be held here at HES. Cost: $30 for two sessions plus $10 materials fee. Click HERE for more information and to register.

Thank you so much for another great year in giving back to the community. For years now, we have been doing both food drives and clothing drives to support local and state residents who need warm holiday meals and clothes for children and teens. We recently finished the annual clothing drive partnered with Cradles to Crayons. We donated a total of 78 bags of clothing to C2C, and 26 other bags went to Savers. We wanted to take a moment to give a special thanks to everyone who helped us with that drive and who has supported us all year!
Hildreth School Council Parent Openings *Statements Due Friday May 30th*
The PTO is overseeing an election to fill two open parent representative positions on the Hildreth School Council. One position has a 3 year term starting at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year, the other is a 1 year term for the 2025-2026 school year to complete a current term.
The school council, which functions at the mandate of the state Department of Education, is a representative, school building-based committee, comprised of teachers, parents, and community members, and is co-chaired by the school principal and a parent representative. The council meets monthly and its purpose is to advise the principal in carrying out specific responsibilities. Read more about the School Council HERE.
Eligible candidates will have a student at Hildreth Elementary School during the 2025-2026 school year. (Please be advised that if your student leaves HES during your term then a new representative will be elected for the duration of the term.)
To be considered as a candidate please send a personal statement about yourself and your interest in the position to news@harvardpto.org by Friday, May 30th. Statements should be no more than 225 words and will be used as ballot statements in the election, which will be held (if needed) in early June.
Please consider giving back to the school community by running for these important positions. Contact us at news@harvardpto.org with any questions.
