Dear HES Families,

Next week is Spirit Week! Thank you to our fifth grade Safety Patrol for organizing this fun opportunity the week before vacation.

MONDAY: Winter White Out Day! Wear lots of white.
TUESDAY: Dress Up Your Head Day! Wear a fun hat or headband, or do your hair in a creative way.
WEDNESDAY: Winter Sock and Sweater Day! Wear your fuzziest socks or coolest sweater.
THURSDAY: Cozy Day! Wear your pajamas or anything else that's super cozy. Small stuffies are welcome.
FRIDAY: Flannel Friday! Wear plaid, flannel, or anything with a pattern.

We want to remind everyone of the importance of arriving on time to school. Arriving by 9:00 am is essential for a smooth start to the day. If a student arrives after 9:00 am, a parent/guardian must bring them into the building and sign them in.

It was wonderful to have some many parents/guardians participate in conferences last month! As you may know, the district calendar committee was asked to move the conference days from the two days before Thanksgiving to the weeks before based on parent feedback to the School Committee. Thursday was selected to shorten the week after long days of conferences. While the calendar is set for next year (similar plan) there are options for following years. We want to collect information that will help in the development of future calendars. Click HERE to access the survey.

Have a great week!

School Announcements
Our lost and found is overflowing! HERE are pictures of some of the items (thank you Safety Patrol for these photos). If you see something that belongs to your child, please ask them to get it from the lost and found. Our fabulous Safety Patrol returns anything that has a name, so please be sure to label students' items. We will donate all unclaimed items in the lost and found over December break.

This holiday season the PTO wants to show our educators how much they’re appreciated! The PTO is collecting donations for treats to brighten their busy days before winter break. If you’d like to contribute, please check out our sign up here. Your generosity will help spread some festive cheer to our amazing staff!

With the cold weather here, we want to remind you that students must have appropriate winter clothes for outdoor play. Please make sure your child has a coat, hats, and gloves to stay warm. For snow, students must have boots and snow pants to play in the snow.

Dear Community Members,

It is time to end hunger in Massachusetts. This fall, Project 351 is partnering with Loaves & Fishes, our local food pantry serving our friends and neighbors. The urgency to donate is real. Many friends and neighbors rely on Loaves and Fishes for food and personal care items.

Our community can make a significant difference this holiday season with your help. If you are struggling with hunger or food insecurity, you are not alone. Our friends and partners at Loaves & Fishes are here to help you and your family.

On behalf of the eighth grade and the Project 351 Club at Bromfield Middle School, our purpose is to lead this holiday season effort to end hunger in our community, and to help with a statewide effort to eradicate food insecurity in Massachusetts. The food drive begins on Monday, December 2 and ends on Friday, December 13. To donate non-perishable food and personal care items, please look for boxes placed around Bromfield, Hildreth, and Harvard Public Library.

Please help us assist our friends and neighbors by donating to the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry this holiday season. Thank you for your consideration and support. If you have questions about the food drive, please contact Ms. Cristin Hodgens at chodgens@psharvard.org.

Sincerely,
Project 351 Club, Bromfield School

Please consider joining the Harvard Schools PTO for the first time, or renewing your membership. We need your support! The PTO is for both HES and Bromfield. We fund grants (think field trips and educational experiences and equipment), run Teacher and Staff appreciation, and work with the schools and community on programs and events for families. A perk of membership is you get a directory of students and staff in our schools -- worth its weight in gold when you're trying to find contact info for someone in our school community.

Did you know that as a parent or caregiver, you need to opt-in to include your information in the directory every year? Whether you choose to join the PTO or not, please take a moment today to make sure you'll be included. Just go to the link and follow the simple steps.
