Family Newsletter | November 13, 2024 HES Homepage | 23-24 School Calendar | AlphaBEST | Who Do I Contact? I Menus I Get to Know Us
Dear HES Families,
We had a beautiful school meeting last Friday to commemorate Veterans Day. We were honored by the presence of family and friends who are veterans, and grateful to our assistant superintendent, Dana Labb, who spoke to our students about his service in the army. Mr. Labb shared about the importance of community, and encouraged students to support and encourage each other as part of our school community. In addition, thank you to Mr. Snell's second grade class for recording a song, fifth graders in Mrs. Phillips' class for reading poems, our local girl scouts, boy scouts, and children of veterans for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Bromfield seniors who played taps for us at the start of the assembly. Many classes also decorated our hallways with tributes and artwork for Veterans Day.
This Thursday is a half day and we will hold our first day of fall parent/guardian conferences in the afternoon and early evening.
- Once again we will offer a bagged lunch to students to bring home or eat at AlphaBEST. Students will select their lunch in the morning and it will be delivered to them before dismissal. Please remind students that there is no eating on the bus.
- If you are coming into the building for conferences and need to bring your child with you, we ask that they wait quietly outside the classroom during your conference. We will have some coloring and other activities to pick up on your way into the building.
Thank you to the PTO, parent volunteers, and especially to Bill Ference, for providing dinner for the HES teachers!
Have a great week!
